-Mary-

Did you have a "word" or a phrase this year? An encouraging statement to push you to be the best version of yourself? I have seen so many amazing one's. I don't normally have a word, because, well, there are so many and my ADD mind won't let me choose. But for some reason, there was one name that kept standing out at the beginning of the new year. "Mary." So I decided, that will be my "word."

After all that's been happening lately, I lost track of what my focus was this year (#addbrain) and this morning, while reading the daily mass readings, I was reminded of that massive need to refocus.

Today is the day Catholics remember that very special moment when the angel Gabriel came down to tell Mary she would "conceive in her womb & bear a son, and she shall name him Jesus." Can you imagine?! Of course she questions but in the end, her incredible response is what pushes me:

"Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word."

WHOA!

The obedience & dedication! And later Jesus announced some very similar dedicated words, "Behold, I come to do your will."

That right there, those words. As a Mother, as a wife, a daughter, a sister, a friend and all the other titles I have, if I could just remember those words every time I question "why, how, when, or what." Wouldn't life be that much sweeter?

We are in such trying times right now. Our family has been hit with quite a lot lately. I am sure you can all relate, as it feels like there are so many things happening all at once. So many obstacles & tests. I hear & see so MANY going through so MUCH right now. It can truly get us down. As we all continue to navigate through these trials, let us remember Mary & Jesus' words to help see us through.

So that even in the trials of life, if we continue to hear what it is we are being called to do, to live accordingly to His will, we know in the end, if it is to make this world a better place, so be it.

Today I pray...

Thank you Lord for the beautiful life of Mary. That we all see her dedication to you & strive to be more like her everyday. So that in the end we can all agree, if it is your will, Thy will be done, through us. Amen
