ADVENT, DAY 1
Here, we have this girl. A young, perfect, innocent girl. Who still, so young, is chosen to do something so crazy, so beyond her own understanding and to do it with this bit of hope, believing that if it is the will of her Lord, it will be for the good and that is all she needs to know. She is about to do something SO HUGE that it could not only completely change her world but alter the way the entire world operates. I mean, how crazy awesome is that?! Yet, I can't decide if I want a soft or hard taco somedays!

We put this pressure on ourselves everyday. This weight, that what if I do it all wrong. What if I try to do this thing for the good, what if I try to be better, what if I give a little more where I don't feel up to it and it comes crashing back down on me. Yet, here's this girl. About to bear a child, as a virgin, and we can't make the simplest of decisions.
Having faith that things will be ok, even when we can't see what will be, is one of the hardest things we face in our lives. But when we take the chance, we take those steps forward, and we get a little closer to our goals the weight becomes lighter and the fears and doubts become less of a burden. When we lean on HIM and not our own understanding, that pressure starts to release.
"We can conquer anything, if we let Him be our guide. We CAN do all things, through Christ, who gives us strength" (Philippians 4:13)
This advent, I pray we can work towards that understanding a little more. To have faith in the unknown. To build our belief in the One stronger than anyone or anything we can see. To have a little more strength within every little moment. To be like this girl who took a chance, surpassed her own understanding and listened to that angel, letting go of all her fears and doubts to do the will of her God. I pray we can just believe a little more each and every day. #belikeMary #havealittlefaith #justbelieve #savedonpurpose
